Angelia-Bending Willow Birth is an absolutely amazing person!! She was our postpartum doula from the time our baby was 5 days old until he was 3 months!! She was so helpful with laundry, dishes and basically anything we needed! We felt so comfortable leaving our newborn with her for a few hours while my partner and I rested, took that much needed shower, or got caught up on errands! Angelia is a fount of useful information, concerning postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and she even helped me give my baby his first sponge bath.
We are forever grateful to Angelia and if we have more babies in the future, we hope she will still be available to help us! We no longer look at her as just someone that helped us those first 3 months, she is now a very dear friend! If you’re looking for a postpartum doula, you cannot go wrong choosing Bending Willow Birth!
She also did a maternity photo session for me as well as a breastfeeding photo session! She’s an amazing photographer and made me feel so comfortable with the camera. The pictures turned out so beautifully and I will cherish them, forever! She’s just an all-around amazing person!!"

What don't postpartum doula's do?

Postpartum doula's are non-medical and never diagnose or give medical advice nor do we provide heavy housekeeping.

Do postpartum doula's provide breastfeeding support?

Absolutely! Postpartum doula's provide basic breastfeeding support and will give resources if you are in need of medical support or professional examination by a lactation consultant.

How is a postpartum doula differ from a nanny?

While a nanny cares for your children, postpartum doula's care for the needs of the mother and baby during the fourth trimester. They are experienced in the needs of a mother during the postpartum period and help a smooth transition into motherhood.

When does a postpartum doula start and for how long?

This postpartum doula will go on call two weeks prior to your estimated due date and typically start helping the family hours following birth or when they arrive home from the hospital. They can even be hired later into postpartum as well.

I'd love to hear from you!
